In 2021, total nitrogen output from animal manure amounted to 474 million kg, nearly 16 million kg less than in 2020 and over 6 percent below the nitrogen oxides emission ceiling. Phosphorus output amounted to 149 million kg last year, 1.8 million kg less than in 2020 and 14 percent below the output ceiling.
